Jurnal Penetapan Kadar Vitamin CBackground: In the analysis of a chemical used a variety of methods, one of which is used for determination of metal content is complexometry. This method is based on the formation of complex compounds between metals with complex forming agents (Na2EDTA). Zinc is one of the metals that make up complex compounds in which the determination of zinc content according to Pharmacopoeia Indonesia III edition is determined in complexometry using ammonia ammonium chloride buffer (pH 9-10). Often times in pharmaceutical sedian found a combination of zinc with vitamin C. this substance is a protective vitamin and mineral that is natural as an antioxidant. Vitamin C is thought to decrease the pH of the mixture (more acidic than zinc sulphate pH without vitamin C).

This study aims to determine the effect of vitamin C on the accuracy of complexometric methods on the determination of zinc sulphate levels. Research Populations: ZnSO4.7H2O and pure vitamin C powder Which was obtained from the distributor of raw materials in Semarang.The method used was the titration of complexometri and the type of this study was experimental research. Research Results: The results of the study were as follows: 1) Recovery of zinc sulphate with the addition of vitamin C: 0 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 Mg, 250 mg, 300 mg, 350 mg, 400 mg, 450 mg, 500 mg, 550 mg were 100%, 98.67%, 98.28%, 98.24%, 97.78%, 97 respectively , 57%, 97.19%, 96.77%, 96.45%, 95.82%, 95.46%; 2) Vitamin C which can still be added to zinc sulfate as much as 550 mg and zinc sulfate content still meet the requirements according to Pharmacopoeia Indonesia that is 95 – 100%; 3) Complexometric method is still accurate enough to be used for determination of zinc sulfate content mixed with vitamin C.
